Hi, Lochside! Wishing this email finds you well. Please check out our updates/reminders below:
1) Reminder: Parking Lot Protocol
Friendly reminder: our parking lot is tight and can get very congested and full. Please take extra time and care when dropping students off and picking them up from school. Pay close attention to the Drop-Off areas and ensure that students are crossing the parking lot in a safe manner.
Please do NOT park/stall on Lochside trail and do NOT park in the dedicated STAFF parking (24/7 no parking in the STAFF stalls).
Please do not STOP right at the entrance to our parking lot. This causes cars and traffic to back up onto Royal Oak Drive.
Parents are reminded to not leave vehicles unattended in the Drive-Thru or Drop-Off lanes while picking up their child.
** IMPORTANT: We have many families at Lochside that need to access the Accessible Parking Stalls. Please ONLY park here if you have a legal decal on display.
Please DO NOT block these stalls while in the drop off lanes. **
(We have had some families show up and not had the the Accessible space(s) available.)
Please give yourself time to walk/park and arrive safely. Thank you, again!
2) Thank you: Halloween Fair 2024
Wowie! What a grand time the Halloween Fair was!
We want to send a HUGE thank you to all the volunteers who made the event successful! You really showed up and helped create memories that will carry the kiddos through the school year (and beyond). THANK YOU!!! 🎉
Don't forget: The office will be selling the rest of the Screamfest Tickets ($10) this week as well as Night of Lights tickets ($5):
Tickets are available at the admin office and will be sold until the last moment.
Tickets are cash only.
Heads up! Screamfest tickets are selling fast!
There are tickets for the 28th, 29th and 30th. But, a couple of days ago, the 29th was a much smaller stack than the other two dates. Unfortunately, we don't have a count of how many tickets remain... So, don't delay! 👀

Lochside After School Program (LASP) serves the Saanich community located in the traditional territories of the Lkwungen (Esquimalt and Songhees) and W̱SÁNEĆ (Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout, Tseycum) peoples. We acknowledge our traditional hosts and honour their welcome and graciousness to the students who seek care here.
5) Literary Pumpkin: Create Now For Oct. 29th
The Learning Commons is looking for a few good literary pumpkins. Show off your creations in this year's annual Literary Pumpkin showcase.

6) Winter Plant Fundraiser: Help Support Grade 5
This holiday plant sale will help raise money for the Grade 5 class graduation events. We appreciate your support!
Orders will be ready November 29th from 1-6pm for pick up in the gym.

Please make sure to send your kiddo(s) with lunch if you do not plan to purchase fun lunch.
If you do order, it's a good idea to send your kiddo(s) with some options to complement the fun lunch if they are picky eaters.
If your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please be aware that they may forfeit the lunch, as it may may not keep for long or get donated.
