Weekly Update: Sunday, November 10, 2024

Hello, Lochside! There is much to reflect on this Remembrance Day. We hope you take the time to honour and remember in your own way. Please check out our updates/reminders below:


 

1) Final Reminder: Please mark our emails as Safe/Not SPAM


UPDATE: Right now, we are getting may bounced emails and folks marking us as SPAM. 😩 Doing this will hurt our ability to send emails if it keeps happening, and some platforms may ban accounts if it happens too often.  Please unsubscribe instead of marking as SPAM, if you wish to opt-out of emails. We always have an unsubscribe button in our emails. Thank you.

 

Please help us make sure we get into everyone's inbox. May you do us a huge favour and mark our emails as Safe/Not Spam in your email provider? It will help us greatly.

2) Final LEPAC for 2024: Tuesday, November 12


Our LEPAC General Meeting is this Tuesday, November 12 at 630PM.

Join us in the Learning Commons for our final LEPAC meeting for 2024.

There will be childminding!

All are welcome. See you there!

 

 


3) THANK YOU: Fall Book Fair


A big THANK YOU to all the book fair volunteers and Learning Commons staff who helped us with this year's fall book fair.


We also appreciate everyone who was able to purchase a book or two (or a stack).


If you missed this book fair, many of the titles are available at Russell's Books. We will have another book fair in the new year.

4) Last Call for Coffee: Stick in the Mud Roastoreum (Nov. 4 - 14)


Do you like coffee? Know someone who would like the gift of coffee?

The final day to order is this Thursday, November 14.


We are proud to introduce our coffee fundraiser with Stick in the Mud Roastoreum:


  • Orders will be collected Nov 4-14th with delivery around end on November. 

  • All orders will be collected through the fun lunch website. 

  • Payments can be made through the hot lunch website, or e-transfer.


Please see the attached form for your reference of the beans available and the types of grind options. You can download the form via File > Download (shown in the image below).



 

5) ONE WEEK LEFT: The Card Project Ends Nov. 17


The children's art is online and the fundraiser closes November 17!

6) FINAL REMINDER Pro D Childminding: LASP Nov.18

Lochside After School Program (LASP) serves the Saanich community located in the traditional territories of the Lkwungen (Esquimalt and Songhees) and W̱SÁNEĆ (Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout, Tseycum) peoples. We acknowledge our traditional hosts and honour their welcome and graciousness to the students who seek care here.


 

7) ENDING Winter Plant Fundraiser:  Help Support Grade 5 (Nov 13)


This holiday plant sale will help raise money for the Grade 5 class graduation events. We appreciate your support!

Orders will be ready November 29th from 1-6pm for pick up in the gym.

9) REMINDER: Night of Light Tickets (Sale Ends Nov 22)


The office may still have Night of Lights tickets available for November 24th, 6 – 9:30 PM.


  • $5 Tickets are located at the admin office

  • Tickets will be sold until November 22 (or until sold out).

  • Tickets are cash only.

11) Order Now: Fun Lunch Sign up links (Order/Volunteer)


💜 Fun lunch reminders:

  • Please make sure to send your kiddo(s) with lunch if you do not plan to purchase fun lunch.

  • If you do order, it's a good idea to send your kiddo(s) with some options to complement the fun lunch if they are picky eaters.

  • If your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please be aware that they may forfeit the lunch, as it may may not keep for long or get donated.

Our next Fun Lunch is, Fri. Nov 15 (This Week's Lunch). Orders closed Nov. 7th.


The following Fun Lunch will be, Fri. Nov 29 (Subway). Orders will be accepted until Thursday, November 21st, 2024.

  • Bottle Depot - Mention Lochside Elementary PAC at return centres or use our *blue bin (Note: our bin is only for bottles/cans. No dumping! Due to dumping, our bin will be taken away soon. We do not have a date, so please donate while it's still on site. )
