Hi, Lochside! Wishing you a good March. :-) Please check out our updates/reminders below:
1) IMPORTANT: Parking Lot
Please take extra time and care when dropping students off and picking them up from school. Pay close attention to the Drop-Off areas and ensure that students are crossing the parking lot in a safe manner.
Please do not STOP right at the entrance to our parking lot. This causes cars and traffic to back up onto Royal Oak Drive.
⚠️ Parents are reminded to not leave vehicles unattended in the Drive-Thru or Drop-Off lanes while picking up their child. ⚠️
Parents also need to remember that they should NOT be parking on Lochside Drive behind the school. This blocks access for homeowners with larger vehicles.
2) Get Your Tickets: Wild Robot Screening (Mar. 7)
Our Grade 5 Grad Wild Robot fundraiser is this Friday!
Ticket sales are will be LIVE on the hot lunch website under the
"Movie Night - Friday March 7" header on Monday, March 3.
Date: March 7
Event: Wild Robot Movie
Location: Lochside Elementary Gym
Time: Doors open 5:30pm, Movie starts at 6:00pm with intermission
$5 recommended ticket donation per person.
All children in attendance will be entered in draw to win the Wild Robot book 2 and book 3.
Feel free to wear comfy clothes, bring blankets, pillows and stuffies...
P.S. Purchase pizza, popcorn and snacks on the fun lunch website or at event. 🍿🍫🍕

5) Spots May Be Available ~ The World Cups Soccer Festival
One of the longest running soccer tournaments is back - The World Cups Soccer Festival!
It's two days over the Fri/Sat of Easter Weekend (April 18-19) and you honestly don't need to have any experience. Teams are made at random, and it's a safe way for kids to practice meeting new people and having level games that are managed so there are no blow outs. It's at the JDF fields (1767 Island Highway, Victoria, BC, CA, V9B 1J1) and super fun!

The school that has the most players registered gets $1000 for their school.
If your kid doesn't like the soccer in the end, at least they get to watch a fun parachute show at the opening ceremonies...

Orders for the next 10 fun lunch dates are open now. Orders will close at 7:00pm on Thursday the week before a given date (example - orders will close at 7:00pm on January 16 for the January 24th fun lunch). If finances prohibit your participation, please contact Principal Takhar.
💜 Fun lunch reminders:
Please make sure to send your kiddo(s) with lunch if you do not plan to purchase fun lunch.
If you do order, it's a good idea to send your kiddo(s) with some options to complement the fun lunch if they are picky eaters.
If your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please be aware that they may forfeit the lunch, as it may may not keep for long or get donated.
